Privacy Policy
Last updated 1 September 2026
The short version
- We do not read your chat. The app checks messages only inside a thread where a guessing game is actually running, and in the channels your server staff set up moderation rules for. Nothing it reads that way is saved.
- We cannot see your online status, what you are playing, or anything about you outside this server. The app does not use Discord's Presence permission at all.
- We never see your email, your real name, or any payment details. There is no cost to using PTCGP Trade Market: all features are free, with no ads and no subscriptions.
- Nothing is sold, shared or advertised against. There are no third-party trackers, no analytics scripts and no ads, on this site or in the app.
- Your friend code is private unless you turn it on, and you can clear everything you added yourself at any time.
01 Who this covers
PTCGP Trade Market ("the app") is a Discord app and embedded Discord Activity that runs the card trading marketplace inside the Pokémon TCG Pocket Discord server. It runs in that one server and is not installable anywhere else.
This policy explains what the app stores about you, why, who can see it, how long it is kept and how to get rid of it. It covers both the app's slash commands and the Market app you open inside Discord. It also covers this website, which stores nothing about you at all: no cookies, no analytics, no tracking of any kind.
02 What the app stores
| What | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Your Discord user ID | The number that ties a listing, trade or giveaway entry to you. Every other record below hangs off it. | While a member |
| Server, channel, thread and message IDs | To post in the right place and to find a trade thread again later. | While a member |
| Your Discord display name and avatar | So the Market app can show you as yourself while you have it open. Held in a sign-in record, not in the marketplace data. | 12 hours |
| Your listings, offers, trades and shares | The cards you say you need and will give, who you traded with, and what completed. A listing you have not touched for 14 days is switched off automatically so the market stays current. Switched off, not deleted: you can bring it back. | While a member |
| Your card collection, wishlist and decks | To match you with traders and to show decks you publish. | While a member |
| Giveaway entries, wins and host record | To draw winners fairly and show whether a host actually delivers. | While a member |
| Game scores and completed collections | Leaderboards for the trivia and guessing games. | While a member |
| Your in-game friend code and player name | Optional, and only if you type them in yourself, so a trading partner can add you in the game. | Until you clear it |
| Your settings | Card language, notification choices, whether you have paused, and your time zone. | While a member |
| Proof screenshots you upload | Only for photo-challenge giveaways, so the host can judge entries. | Until the giveaway ends |
| Which parts of the app you opened, and when you were last active | To keep the market tidy, expire stale listings, and show who is around right now. | While a member |
| Card lookups | Which cards are being searched for, to spot what the community wants. Recorded with no user ID attached. | 35 days |
"While a member" means the record lives as long as you are in the server, so that ranks, trade counts and host track records stay meaningful. See section 7 for how to have it removed sooner.
03 Your messages
No message you write is stored by the app. Where the app reads a message at all, it compares the text against something it already knows, acts on the result, and forgets the text.
The app reads message text in exactly three situations:
- Live guessing games. In a thread or channel where a game is running, it checks each message against the secret answer so it can declare a winner. Outside those, it is not looking.
- Two moderation rules your server staff configured. In channels staff designated, a message with exactly four images, or a message containing an in-game friend code, is removed. The first is a scam post format; the second keeps trades on the record in the marketplace instead of in private. Moderators are exempt from both.
- Giveaway hosts managing their own post by mentioning the app with a link to a message they want pinned.
When one of the moderation rules removes a message, a copy is posted into a private staff channel inside Discord so a moderator can check the rule got it right. That copy lives in Discord, not in our database, and is subject to Discord's own retention.
The app never reads your direct messages, and it takes no interest in ordinary conversation anywhere else in the server.
04 What the app never collects
- Your online status or what you are playing. The app does not request Discord's Presence permission, so this information is not available to it even in principle.
- Your email address, real name, address or date of birth.
- Payment details. Nothing in the app costs money.
- Your location. If you set a time zone, that is a setting you chose from a list, and other members only ever see what time it currently is for you, never your region or offset.
- Anything about you outside this Discord server, including other servers you are in.
05 Who can see it
Other members
Your listings, your market rank and completed trade count, decks you publish, and your record as a giveaway host are all visible to other members of the server. That is the point of a marketplace: people need to see what you are trading and whether you follow through.
Kept private unless you say otherwise
- Your friend code is off by default. It appears in the Friend Finder only if you explicitly opt in, and you can opt back out whenever you like.
- Your time zone is never shown as a place. Other members see a clock, never a region, a country or a UTC offset.
Server staff
Moderators can see the moderation logs described in section 3, and the administrative views needed to run giveaways and resolve trade disputes.
Nobody else
We do not sell, rent, trade or share your data with any third party. There are no advertising networks, no data brokers and no analytics providers involved at any point.
06 Where it is kept
App data lives in a single database on a private disk rented from Railway, hosted in the United States. It is not reachable from the public internet and only the app can read it.
Card artwork is served from Cloudflare R2 and this website is served by Cloudflare Pages. Neither holds anything about you. Discord itself processes your messages and account under Discord's own privacy policy, which is separate from this one.
If you are in the UK or EU: the app is operated from outside your region, so using it involves your data being handled in the United States. The lawful basis for processing is our legitimate interest in operating a community marketplace you chose to take part in, and, for the optional details you add yourself, your consent.
07 Your choices, and deleting your data
Things you can do yourself, right now
- Clear your friend code and your in-game player name in the Market app, under Profile Settings.
- Opt out of the Friend Finder, which is also the default. Same place: Profile Settings.
- Turn off direct-message notifications.
- Pause your listings so they stop appearing in the market.
- Remove any listing, deck or giveaway you created.
Leaving the server
If you leave, the app switches off your listings and closes your open trades automatically, and tells anyone mid-trade with you what happened. Nothing is deleted by that alone: your records stay until you ask for them to be removed, so that rejoining does not mean starting from nothing.
Full deletion
You can ask us to delete everything the app holds about you. Contact us using the details in section 9. Deletion is handled by a person rather than a self-service button, and we will action your request within 7 days. It removes your rank, trade history and giveaway record permanently, and that cannot be undone.
08 Age
Discord requires all users to be at least 13, or older where local law sets a higher minimum. The app is only reachable through Discord, so the same limit applies. We do not knowingly hold data about anyone below it. If you believe a child's data is held here, contact us and we will remove it.
09 Contact
For anything about this policy, or to request deletion of your data:
- In Discord: message the moderators in the Pokémon TCG Pocket server. This is usually the fastest route.
- By email: [email protected]
10 Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top of it. Material changes will be announced in the Discord server rather than left for you to notice.
